Found this book as a free download on Kindle Unlimited and read it cover to cover in one sitting. It's an easy read, very compelling, sometimes exciting, sometimes funny. The story crisscrosses the country and hits most of the hot spots (pyramids, temples, tombs, the Nile, etc.) with a few surprises good and bad along the way. The author is open and honest about the trip: it wasn't always fun but they loved Egypt nonetheless. I appreciated that very candid nature of the story, it added to the authenticity. I felt the writer's joy and frustration on every page, like I was along for the ride (without the sweat and sore feet). I also loved the history and geography lessons, it was informative without being intrusive. I learned a lot about Egypt and found a few new places I'd love to visit (Luxor!), and a few I won't (Hurghada!). Overall this book is great fun and worth a try.
